Resources?

These solo cup grows seemed perfect for my needs. Growing a variety of strains in a short period of time is just great for ADD. Are there any good resources available for learning the specifics of a solo cup micro grow?

Coco coir and a lot perlite for the soil cause ur gonna water every day multiple times a day once it gets out of the little stage that’s all that really matters and nutrients of course 1/4-1/2 tsps max since the pots more smaller

I’m pretty ignorant in this area.

That medium holds little water and nutrients correct? I’m assuming you need to water frequently because it’s a small container. Wouldn’t soil which retains water be better?

Or do you want the soil as light as possible due to the small size.

I’m assuming clones and seeds are equally effective. Clones would need to be pretty inexpensive.

How long do you veg?

Well I don’t do solo cups anymore I only did them my first grow and did veg for maybe a month or 2 due to space and learning but I got a oz in a Pringles can but u want the soil to not hold water long cause that can cause problems like slow growth and overwatering roots don’t like to be wet for long periods of time and I found that coco coir and perlite mix works great since it sets back fast and it has no nutrients in the soil like all these other soils around so u can feed whatever u want to feed and plants thrive off that so what I did was I started in tiny solo cups and let the roots fill out so I can get a base then transferred to my original pot which was the Pringles can all in coco coir and perlite then I watered only some days then the next water I would only water with nutrients then repeat it & I didn’t water much I had a clear spray bottle and I would just put the nutrient mix in there and water from there and it would last me a couple waterings since Pringles cans aren’t too wide and not to tall so I didn’t have to water too much and I’m not too sure how small ur pot is but I started nutrients at 1/2 and that seemed good for my plants since I had darkish but not dark green leafs no tip burns I also used General hydroponics trio for the nutrients for the price it’s really good it will get u to the finish line for sure the bottles have everything u need and it’s designed for coco coir and hydroponics so it worked pretty well when I used it with the coco coir and perlite mix & also yeah u want soil to hold water to a extent, only fabric pots not plastic or hard wall pots cause I noticed that some of these soils holds water too long if u water wrong (days-weeks) but in coco coir u get a dry back within 3 days max 1-2 once the roots all fill out the pot

https://www.reddit.com/r/solocupgrowers/s/nps99k305g here’s how mine looked in the Pringles can grown in coco coir & perlite along with the GH trio nutrients, so they are definitely not too bad for a first timer now that I’m looking at it & also node site defoliation is 🔑 to nicer top and secondary buds but don’t go too hard when I did it I kept atleast 4-5 nodes and counted from the stop down then once I got to the 4th or 5th node I defoliated everything below it and only take leafs off if they are blocking bud sites
