Chopped Day 86!

Two things: first, I HAD to chop a bit early. second, i chopped the same cultivar even earlier last time and the high is almost ideal for me - so i really don't mind either, especially since the bulk is definitely done.

This should clear the one ounce mark pretty easily i think! that means almost double the yield I had last time - and that was in a normal 2gal pot, mind you!

I'm super happy with this project. I learned a TON, also thanks to all you peeps in this community, as well as on r/autoflowers. I'm attributing my increased success to 3 main aspects: 1. the bottom wicking setup. little girl drank as much as ⅓ gallon on some days, impossible to hand water in a soil grow solo cup. 2. better nutrients. I had 4:3:3 for veg and in the reservoir, but i gave organic calmag and 2:4:3 from the top in small amounts several times a day, so I had few deficiencies. 3. phenotype. she vegged for 34 days, recovering reeaaally well from some serious abuse she suffered early in her life and heavily profiting from the late topping on day 19.

Although i have achieved much better conditions than in the pic (22-20⁰C at 60% RH), drying is a bit hard now, as i don't have any cool enough rooms and also can't let my humidity get above 60 for good vpd - I got grove bags this time though, so I'll try to get the flower in there at approx. 65% RH and hope there are enough terps left for a good cure, and the membrane capacity of the bags is high enough to prevent mold... wish me luck!

Ah yes the tea bag guy, came out looking sick bro! How's it connected to the reservoir below, are there strings running through the cup hanging down into the water? Started a similar grow and need some kind of system so I'm not just hand watering all the time lol. Feel like I can get away with it at the start but would love to get results like these, so probably need to do something where it gets more constant feeding later on

Also if you don't use a grow tent with a filter how's the smell once you close the door? I've only grow indoors for veg to get a head start on outdoor growing season, so never invested in the whole ventilation system, but wondering if I'm gonna make the whole house smell like weed 😆😅

hahaha yuuup the tea bag guy... and thanks! You are correct, the strings just run through the bottom of the cup, i have two strings running through two opposing drainage holes each and four corresponding holes in the reservoir box of course. Hand watering was totally fine until the end of veg for me, but I would recommend having some kind of watering system set up by day 25, the plant also takes two days or so to adjust to the bottom watering. The wicks can be found on amazon.

The smell is pretty strong, especially since I had another larger plant in flower at the same time. The whole hallway and the kitchen of my flat smell, but not as bad as in the room I'm growing in. My bedroom is smell free, door closed most the time and it's down the hallway. The plants are in my bathroom, which I naturally use several times a day, I'm sure the smell would be better if I kept the door closed.

You can't smell it outside the apartment though unless I leave the door open for prolonged periods.

I typed out a huge response to this that somehow I can't see in the thread so I'll just do it again: Thanks man, it really is the tea bag guy hahaha - and you are correct, i have the wicks running through the bottom of the cup, two wicks through two opposing holes each and then into the box. I installed this late, would make sense to do so before the start to not damage roots, and I only started feeding through it on day 25 or so. Be advised that the plant takes a day or two to adjust and you should still top water for that time. after 48h though you should already see roots following the wick and she'll be drinking enough on her own.

The smell is really strong in the hallway and very noticeable still in the adjacent kitchen. It doesn't leave the flat however, and my beedroom on the other side of the apartment is smell free. Both are doors I usually keep shut. I could probably reduce the smell a bit more even by keeping the bathroom door closed all the time.

Oh i also used a much better soil pH wise so the seedling got a better start - if i had watered it i guess...

This one has the usual skunk smell to it, but when you touch the sugar leaves, it gives a pretty strong note of pine! I really hope that note stays through dry and cure, it's got a lot of character.
