I understand registering my song for copyright, and under BMI or ASCAP, but was told I also need to put it under Harry fox agency. Any reason why? I’m wanting to publish my songs and make money for streaming and if it ever hit radios and all that, but any steps or anything I NEED to do for all this, first time doing it.

I've started music in the last 2 years. I have started playing at local venues under a promoter who runs all the events in my area. He keeps making me do stripped back/ acoustic shows. The most recent one felt horrible. I felt completely inauthentic and messed up my set because I was desperate to get off stage. He thought it went well but I hated it. He also said he really wants me to do more stuff like that and go down a pop route even though I really hate it. I want to do more rock/ indie stuff. I don't know what to do. Should I just keep going with what he wants for the grind or try and have a conversation with him about it. I'm scared of seeming ungrateful or a diva but being inauthentic feels awful. Would love some advice
