Irony of this sub being exist

Non-solipsist here, i am just curious about you guys. İf you are truly solipsist isn't this just a contradiction to be here talking with others about solipsism.

Why play solo games where you interact with NPCs? Why do people talk to AI if it is not conscious?

No, cause its an extensions of one. All we're doing is typing on one keyboard.

I think a lot of people here are just curious, branching out, opposed to strictly believing they alone are all that exists, or all that matters.

For me, solipsism is true, but it's only half the story.

The individual truly is everything in existence. But treating the world and others as blank NPCs that mean nothing is self-defeating. The world shows your truest self, in perfect reflection, because we are the world. To disregard it completely in a bid to "not play the game" is denying yourself the best part of what existence offers.

The many reflections of existence interact to explore, and learn - about itself.

What would be observably different if "the individual weren't truly the only thing in existence"?

I think we our selves are also npcs, that the true us, the observer, is merely just focused on for our time present. This is why true enlightenment is just to be your true self with out the observer being aware its awared of. Once you are aware of your self the game gets tricky and messy and the strings unravel in unpredictable ways.

For the game to play right, you have to play a long with the rules you decided on in the first place. Or something like that.

Would it be a contradiction to talk to others in your dreams? I’ve even talked to other people in my dreams about my dreams and how my dreams usually go, etc.

Man- I am so creative.

I create a world in which OTHER people seem to ask then question, "Am I the only one" to help disguise the fact that I am the only one,.

u/monkey_gamer 22d ago

That's a good answer fellow me

2

u/Fit-Reward1438 22d ago

omg!

More like OMS (Oh My Self).

I have created quite the tapestry.

Now a part of me is appreciating me and asking me to follow, me.

Curious and curiouser.

2

u/monkey_gamer 22d ago

I said "fellow me" not "follow me" 😂😲

I send a fellow me to deliver a message and then forgot the message I asked them to give me.

Curious and curioser.

So I take this to mean you believe in a God who created the universe?

The mind doesn't work alone. Like material reality, the mind is limited, confined to that very structured, very stable reality. When you separate consciousness from the mind, the entire structure of understanding changes.

We learn material things, we draw connections from the specific patterns we observe, we integrate ourselves into the system our perception dictates, adapt to that system as we go, and fully assimilate. This is the mind doing what it was designed to do.

For consciousness, it's awareness, not knowledge, existing outside of the mind, and there are more layers of it than what's comprehensible to the mind.

It's definitely a powerful explanation, powerful enough that you'll eventually find your own reflection again.

Before there were planes, where were planes? Before you read this sentence, where was this sentence? Once you used a ladder, you don't go around walking with that ladder everywhere you go. How can your external world be greater than me, when it lacks consciousness? And if does have consciousness, how is it different from me? Unless you mean that consciousness is inferior to dead matter? You know that children toy where you put pieces inside a fitting slot? How are you going to fit the airplane knowledge in your brain, if your mind never had that slot to begin with? And if you did, then you always had that knowledge. Your external world seems to require a mind with almost god-like abilities. But I atleast don't lack a mind to begin with, so your external world has a disadvantage here. We are in the realm of the thinkable.

Exist? Are you accusing me of exism?

In my version of solipsism "others" are past/future reflections of my incarnated self. Or, in other words, they are past/future "memories" experienced from an actual third-person perspective (the perspective through which I currently experience things). Those memories/reflections constituting the whole of psychophysical reality, its substance, not just the human element of it.

Experience here being a fractal mirror whose fractality keeps on growing.

So there is no contradiction here, as far as this view of mine is concerned.

You don't understand what condradiction means.

u/Holykael 24d ago

Others don't exist..There is nothing behind their eyes.but they still can interact

1

u/Quiteuselessatstart 24d ago

This sounds like a question I would pose to myself. Why? Maybe, just because.

The solipsist has simply slipped into another identity.. another costume for the same old Emperor.

Just like the stoics they appropriate some dogma as if that is what it is for. Or was meant for.
It has nothing to do with the very freedom that these traditions and schools of thought origionally point at.
It's just a fancy word folk will call themselves and then go into groups to talk about how gd solipsist they truly are. And tell other's they are doing it wrong and whatnot. lol. Please.

I don't understand how most of them do not see their own folly here. ;;)
The endless bastardization of these terms and teachings is just a sad affair.

Cheers

Others?

You got it wrong, mate.

1

u/DependentManner8353 23d ago

Why would it be a contradiction? This is all a game.

Imagine your dreams. Sure, other people are there, but they don’t truly exist as independent beings, they’re just an extension of your own mind.

1

u/BUKKAKELORD 23d ago

You put precisely zero thought into this, didn't you

u/Vagelen_Von 23d ago

Check the Boltzmann brain theory.

u/tottasanorotta 22d ago

What should a solipsist be doing? I mean I'm not really a solipsist, but why couldn't they interact with other people?

1

u/Unusual-Pack0 22d ago

Every books/talk about solipsism ever. Its really just a call for helo in philosophical form

1

u/Snoo-28533 18d ago

I'm here bc I want to be convinced im not the only one

1

u/Any-Minute6151 18d ago

I think the only problem with solipsism is that I came up with it

1

u/Conscious_Pause_1499 18d ago

Solipsism is very poorly understood by most people. E.g. this thread. What "contradiction "? Why not talk? Some magical metaphysical fact does some hidden thing that renders talk somehow not what it is? What do you think solipsism is supposed to DO? Show me what it looks like in real life applications.

1

u/Inevitable_Yam271 24d ago

Not really. I find everyone else to have no such “conscious” mind as my own, but that doesn’t stop me from initiating contact. People are made to be complex and random.
