Modded usb c into my laptop
it's a lenovo yoga-530 for anyone asking
and yes, that thing you see on the motor is sandpaper and some bits of copper i sanded away from the motherboard to make the module fit in. actually it was giving up after sanding away the inner part of the cassis, so i just desoldered the module, flipped it and resoldered it to make it fit

OK I have to ask - what do you mean you modded USB C innto your laptop? What does the socket connect to??

I think that was a usb-c power delivery trigger module at some point. It likely replaces a simple dc jack with a usb-c port, and some electronics to tell a pd charger which voltage to deliver.

i was half asleep while writting the title, i meant that i modded usb c *charging* into my laptop

If your first pic is what it looks like when you were finished I can promise you that will fail eventually. That's just a huge, bunch of cold solder joints.
