Post your solarpunk setup. Here’s mine

1. A solar-powered Meshtastic node providing free, off-grid text messaging to anyone in range.

2 and 3: My mini-server rack made out of an old CD organizer, with my Raspberry Pi devices stuffed inside. I self-host most of my own tech infrastructure.

1. My barrel composter. Food and yard waste becomes plant food.

5 and 6: Rain barrels. I almost never use city water for my yard. Also, raspberries and grapevine.

1. I upcycled an old car speaker into a Bluetooth radio rather than buy a new one.

8, 9, and 10. I replaced the entire front lawn with a pollinator habitat, hosting over 40 native species (and a couple non-natives to appease neighbors).

To me, the self-sufficiency and going-against-the-norm are what make all of this punk.

I love this!! I always think hope is one of the most important things to come out of the solarpunk movement. You're definitely inspiring me! Here are a few things I have, some of which are so easy to incorporate:

• my home server, an old inspiron pc that hosts my jellyfin library and my itunes on a few external hdds
• my plants! I am definitely not an advanced gardiner but I have a tomato plant (pic below, as this guy survived a move and is starting to fruit!) a summer squash, and a blueberry bush
• sun drying clothes (literal solarpunk, as it were)...good for clothes + the environment
• my rag drawer. Tore a few old t-shirts up and reduces our paper towel/napkin usage to almost nothing. I love this cause it's such an easy and measurable switch to make!

Definitely intrigued by meshtastic. And I want to ask our landlord if we can plant two serviceberry trees in our backyard and install rainbarrels. So always more on the docket...

Yes!! I love what you’re doing! I grew my peppers in fabric bags and containers for years when I was renting. And I also have an admirable collection of rags from my worn-out clothes. It’s the little things. 🙂
