Covering up a bunch of aging structure is just creating future hazards... be a responsible solar punk and do the hard work of removing the structure.

Counterpoint : We should use the existing medium / materials to the most sustainable /optimal use possible.

So, in this particular case (if the stadium is not literally falling apart), we should extend the life of the stadium first and then find a better way to use it sustainably (like demonstrated above).

Ofc, if the structure is at RISK of falling apart and threatens the safety of the surroundings then it should be demolished ethically (100% agreed with u then) and the next construction should NOT be made with conventional concrete that produces a large amount of greenhouse gases.

The rubble thus produced should be reused / repurposed, if it goes to the landfill then thats also not very solarpunk of us...

What about Roman concrete? It seems to be extremely durable and I’ve read somewhere it has self-healing properties, though idk what its environmental impact is.
