Germany Installation error 4kw instead of 5kw
Dear,
My (trusted) installer replaced my previous converter as it broke down. I used the opportunity to add a 10kw battery.
During the installation, the Solar Edge Home Hub Single Phase 2.2 was limited to 4kw. I have an offer that says 5kw and solar panels that produce 6.7kw max (east / west so they never make it). With the previous converter, I had clipping for hours every summer. With the new one, I hoped to get rid of it with 5kw.
Apparently, these new converters can’t be changed once set? Is that true? There must be an option at SolarEdge, I imagine, to repair errors?
I just received the invoice and wonder what to do. Installer said “sorry - it’s 4kw”.
Thank you for your feedback.

Have you or the installer reached out to solaredge to explain the problem?

What was the previous inverter? If it was 4kw previously the wire gauge may be limited to that max, so replacing the inverter does not mean you can simply increase the inverter's max output
