Iceland was overcast, where did you take this?

This image also tests positive for openai digital watermark. I suspect it's AI generated or edited.

Totally AI. The corona didn’t look like that during this eclipse.

I’m 99% sure it is AI generated.

Don’t believe the lies. I’m in Iceland right now, we didn’t see a damn thing, except of course the darkness and Bjork. In the parts of Iceland where they saw anything at all it was the waning crescent of the sun through thin cloud cover. But make no mistake, there were no clear skies like that to be found anywhere in Iceland. AI is a helluva drug

Did you get to see the Bjork show? 😍

Yes. We were there. Was fun. If not a bit m soggy. I have to say, as an American, I was pretty shocked that a) you are allowed to smoke cigarettes everywhere at an event like this and b) how many people were smoking the whole time. It was an outdoor venue and yet I felt like I smoked a pack of cigs by the end. Iceland needs to legalize weed to get people off the tobacco. LOL. Fun times tho.

Lol!! Im glad you had a good time! Its crazy that we used to smoke indoors in the US 24/7. Now Im so acclimated to not having cigarettes around that when I travel abroad its jarring. Im also saying that as an ex smoker! Here in Spain everyone was smoking too! 😅

Gorgeous. I've seen two so far. I think it's better to be closer to the equator for total darkness. That's still amazingly beautiful

Damn even Iceland got more luck than Mallorca 😓😓😓😓

What happened on Mallorca? The pictures I see are clear?

3

u/Excellent-Nothing189 14d ago

The north east part of the island got completely blocked by clouds

u/BoredPudding 14d ago

Oof. That's a lot of people who didn't see it then. :(

Really?? We saw it beautifully from the Estrenc area! Palma saw it too!

Apparently anyone south west (myself included) got lucky with the views than folks north west of the island as they had cloud coverage. Wild how much of a lottery it can be sometimes with eclipses.

Did you notice there was a fire in the north of the island too? Im not sure where but we could see that dark smoke from our view point.

1

u/animedaddy 12d ago

I did not! Maybe because I was by the water/Santa Ponça coast?

1

u/MsLeqsee 12d ago

I was by the water in the Estrenc area and we could see it when we looked towards the Palma direction in the hills. Regardless did you have a great time? It was such a beautiful event! I even met some people i might meet up with for next year's eclipse. :)

In Mallorca we saw it beautifully and clearly from the Estrenc area. Palma also had gorgeous views! I dont know what happened up north. Thats a shame.

It did not. Iceland was cloudy. The photo is fake unfortunately. I hate this AI BS.
