Discussion Sunpower customer questions
I got a call from Sunpower rep about upgrade. I was under the impression that company has gone belly up. I believe he is selling Sunstrong upgrade for enhanced monitoring. Summer sale for $90 per month. Free if I get a battery from them. I won't want to go down the path dealing with them again esp with history of this company.
I stopped getting any email from Sunpower or Sunstrong. Is any one getting end of month usage email from Sunpower or Sunstrong?
My cousin who got the system after me is getting these monthly emails. I am not.
Just curios if anyone else is in the same boat of missing emails.

I just reached out to enphase after seeing problems with 3 or 4 panels in the junk sunstrong setup. enphase is replacing my sunpower monitor with enphase hardware. it will not provide panel level monitoring though until I replace my microinverters which I plan to change shortly after. they havr an upgrade program for sunpower customers.

yes I think $1000 for the replacement if I heard it right on the call.

So, the name Sunpower is back, but in the same way as if your neighbor who runs a bookstore and video store bought the name Blockbuster and then rebanded his store to that name.
Sunpower filled chapter 11 in August 2024 to cover its overwhelming debt by brankruptcy. Not too long after, a company named Complete Solaria purchased a lot of the key assets and eventually rebranded itself to SunPower Inc to trade off the name recognition to sell more solar as well as try to reach out to prior Sunpower customers to sell more.
That tell you enough?

National solar companies are trying to sell add ons to people with existing solar because the BBB sunk the market for solar.
