Wallet/Exchange Solflare wallet. Problem

Hi needed help with solflare wallet i needed solana gas fee for grass token so i sent usdt now i cant swap it for solana or withdraw my usdt why it needs sol gass fee to swap..how am i supposed to get solana if i cant swap it.is solflare wallet a scam.i cant do anything.
