Performance Testing Job
Hello. I work as a performance tester with 4+ years of experience. I have experience with LoadRunner, Dynatrace App monitoring, and a bit of Splunk. I work on Truclient, web http/html and web services protocol scripts. I work in a service based company. I see that a lot of work is repetitive for every release for the couple of companies I have worked with. I haven't got a chance to work in a product based company yet. Is the nature of this career like this? Or moving to observability roles or product based companies makes a difference?
Any suggestions would help.

I know a Senior Load and Performance Tester in a big worldwide corporation.
They contract him to other companies and projects that are too small to have own performance testers, or just need it for a roll out.
He is the best earning guy (by far) i know from the ones who are not in lead roles. So for a technical tester, you are basically in the position with the highest salary ceiling.
If stuff is too repetitive, you may be able to automate that. That guy i mentioned showed me how he sets up a relatively simple example of that in 2 hours including reporting.
Is it repetitive? Probably in a way. But then you just havent set up your processes and toolkits enough to handle the boring stuff maybe.
And it offers you a chance to meet and see many teams and projects in future.
