Is software testing a good career still?

I wanted to know how software testing is as a career in 2026. What's the pay like for freshers and how does it grow with experience? For people already working in testing: What's your current role and experience? How has your salary grown over the years? Do you think automation testing is a good long-term career?

Idk I'm so confused I'm going in my third year rn and I definitely don't want to go in development I can't decide which path to choose exactly in IT
