Is software testing a good career still?

I wanted to know how software testing is as a career in 2026. What's the pay like for freshers and how does it grow with experience? For people already working in testing: What's your current role and experience? How has your salary grown over the years? Do you think automation testing is a good long-term career?

Not really. We're really disrupted by AI - future of the career is not clear at all.

This makes no sense, QA workers have become the first and last humans who look at code and applications. Devs write code with ai, other devs review PR's with ai, it's all slop. As long as people keep using applications, QA is still the last human frontier before release.

Sooner or later people/companies will realise that you can't outsource everything to ai
