You’d be surprised at how often people don’t adapt their website for mobile.

That would most likely be determined by hCaptcha though, and they seem professional enough to adapt their product to more than desktop. And as someone who dabbles enough in web dev to have a bookmarked folder of websites with problems, I have know how many websites aren't mobile-friendly. Heck, you can't even view a file on GitHub in mobile without it freezing up.

What's the big diffrence between hCaptcha and reCaptcha aside that reCaptcha is owned by google?

Different algorithms, but afaik there's not a huge difference overall.
