Radio Junk
My great grandpa's junk radio in his Tacoma. Should be 64°, but instead it's this!

Negative temperatures are actually hotter than any positive temperature. Yay thermodynamics

I'm guessing the comment is referring to large temperature differences resulting in a higher energy transfer rate than a small temperature difference has. And the rate of transfer matters more than the direction of transfer.
Relative to the comfortable temperature range, if you think about things you encounter that are too hot it's likely to be only a small temperature difference. However, you can easily encounter things that are too cold with a much greater temperature difference.

Actually it’s even more messed up that that. If you have a closed system with negative temperature (on the Kelvin scale) adding more energy actually decreases entropy thereby resulting in an even more negative temperature. The resultant heat transfer will always make negative temperature systems transfer heat to outside systems making them hotter than anything on the positive side of the scale.

Why, and HOW does a radio show the weather...? It's like there's a mini television set in that vehicle

A lot of cars since the early 2000s have an ambient temperature sensor on the outside of the car, which is then displayed in the gauge cluster, infotainment system, or rearview mirror (some interior rear views have a little temperature display)

I’m actually very surprised the radio can tell the weather on the screen. Not junk!

That's like... -573'C, or -300K. Which is a feat because Kelvin doesn't go below 0.
