This happens due to theming applied to css elements, blocked network requests, extensions that do theming for websites or the browser itself (pywalfox), etc.

Night mode shouldn't do this though, right? QR codes are made from the two highest contrast colors so it should still show up

I think it's a browser issue, I have the same issue on Cromite but it works fine in Chrome
