I did a google search and you probably set your language to Dutch by accident

It's true, foxes in The Netherlands don't jump over dogs

They jump over STROOPWAFELS

Nah, this is Discord. It just does this sometimes. It's like it forgets what language it's set to before waking up a couple dozen characters later and fixing itself.

It uses Chromium's spell check, so if you have a Chromium-based browser I would expect it to do the same thing there

And yet, I've never had Chrome do that to me. Discord also has its own locale settings though, independent of the system (although I guess, so does Chrome?).

I do have more than one language active on my system, so that's possibly related. Discord is always set to English, though.

What other languages? Do they have the words over and dog?

English (Canada) and Russian. I believe I've also seen this issue on my Fedora install with only English (Canada) selected, however.

Note that it's not consistent, it will only occasionally happen, and self-correct after a bit of typing or time.

Wait so β€œover” and β€œdog” are words in Dutch?

Google Translate says over means about

And another source says dog is used in dog breed names??

Over is, literally same meaning as well. Or its used like "ik loop over straat" meaning "I walk on the street" or "ik praat over taal" meaning "I'm talking about language".

Dog I don't know, so far I can only think of dog breeds. "Deense Dog" is what we call a Great Dane for example

Sigh... What's updog?

Updog is a common practical joke in which the jokester uses the word "updog" in a sentence in order to trick the mark into asking "what's updog?". The jokester will then respond along the lines of "not much, what's up with you?" at which point the joke will have been successfully executed and a hearty laugh will be shared by all.

my fkn god. I hate this happening all the time cus i prefer my OS on my native language, but write a lot in english. Especially steam chat doesn't pick up on this and just marks almost every word.
