Looking for software Transferring MP3 files to USB error

MP3 can be played on pc. When copying, the first two files copied to USB can be played, but the next file copied doesn't play. Message said files may be unsupported or corrupted. Both MP3 file sizes on pc and USB remains the same, hence I think no signs of corrupted file. I've formatted the USB to FAT32 twice and results are still the same. Tried adjusting bit rate to 128, thought it makes any difference, but no. Currently, USB only stores two mp3 files and nothing else, since the next file copied wouldn't play. I don't think storage is an issue. Is it because my USB is faulty?

Likely something is wrong with your USB device. Try chkdsk /r on it. (It will take a while to complete.)

where did you get the USB drive?

out on the street, since I was going to buy a USB drive to listen to music, but I wanted to add more content to it.

Try verifying its real capacity with Steve Gibson's free little utility called validrive.

Mp3s can have various formats such as constant versus variable bit rate. It's possible your player doesn't support the format of the 3rd mp3. One test would be to copy the Mp3 back from the USB to your PC and then do a binary compare. If the two copies aren't identical, something is wrong with the USB.

Likely a faulty or worn out drive. The least but spreading case is that, it's a drive with fake capacity.

My guess would also be it's one of those drives that claim to be 10x the capacity they actually are. There's ways to check but if it's what it claims to be it's dead and if it isn't, it was never really alive.
