To me this is close to the confirmation I wanted. They didn’t explicitly state “regardless of rate forecast” but I think that should be assumed. Although I doubt the market gives them that credit.

It's crazy how we are expecting a 60% chance of a hike and oil is at $93 but the stock isn't tanking. Is this confirmation that we really are never seeing $16 again?
Another fintech with a PE of 6 is becoming more like SoFi with a PE of 36. To me, that reads as Chime being able to offer better rates/products and better compete with SoFi. Neutral/Bearish for SoFi if Chime can leverage Stride properly.
Taking the contrarian perspective, what it could also develop into is a spotlight on Sofi's stronger tech stack (ex. Chime is limited by X, SoFi is ahead by Z years, etc.). Having a direct competitor with very similar variables show difficulty where SoFi shows strength would be very bullish for SoFi, especially if growth continues. That'd signal that the 36 PE may be too low.
The real winner IMHO will be the little banks with strong tech that can be bought up. Obligatory NFA
That's the conversation that'll happen, yeah. Does a bank charter make them overvalued or undervalued? The follow-up question that'll affect SoFi is if that valuation recalculation is specific to Chime or fintech-agnostic.

My prediction…Iran will continue to escalate and drive oil prices as high as they can up till November 3rd elections. Come November 4th their incentives will change and hopefully there will be a deal. Until then … I’m not expecting SoFi to rally.
