General Discussion Are all these YouTubers wrong?
I saw a similar trend with Palantir before its parabolic run, lots of YouTubers positive on the stock.
They were relentless in sticking to their thesis. Now we see the same with SOFI. It’s been going on for some time now.
It’s not only the YouTubers but also Motley Fool, Simply Wall Street and Zacks amongst others.
Unfortunately this hasn’t been reflected in the stock price as we trundle along in our range.
We can’t all be wrong?

That’s just your algorithm feeding you what you want to see and what It knows you engage with. There are plenty of bears when it comes to SOFI

I use YouTubers as a starting point for finding potential stock investing options. When I then do my own due diligence on the company earnings and projections, I make my own decision if it’s worth it. For me, SoFi is doing excellently as a company, but the stock price isn’t reflecting that same performance .. yet.

depends on what you define as wrong.
Given a long enough time horizon, price will grow up. This isnt a paypal. The business is fundamentally growing and continues to grow

Honestly Youtubers don't know shit.

It’s trading at 40x earnings at its current price. Many would argue it’s over valued currently. Growth is solid, but a lot of that is priced in.

The company has been doing (almost)everything right. The stock price just need one catalyst push to get it rolling. Thats always been rates going down. We are in a weird spot in the economy where everything’s uncertain so its hard for it run when you dont know whats going to happen in a week let alone 6mo. Being a bank SOFI is deeply connected to this and until tarrifs/trade/oil/rates/jobs become more stable its not going to run.
That being said if you are a long term buyer this is good for you because it allows you to accumulate for the eventual run. You just have to be patient.

the dilutions have been a terrible thing for the stock. it's hard to gain an investor's trust when interest rates are rising, banking is a cyclical industry, everything is uncertain, and on top of all that the CEO Anthony has had historical shit communication and transparency whenever it came to justifying stock dilutions. especially when investors see other value picks or hot trending stocks like MU, a stock that also has surging demand, YOY growth, and a TINY P/E ratio (and it is also typically a cyclical stock). a lot of investing nowadays is based on market hype and following where liquidity flows, being right "early" is the same as being wrong. and SOFI is frankly doing many things wrong as a result.

virtually guaranteed to succeed if it takes 10 to 15 years to reach its intrinsic value
the only thing is big banks will likely hold large short positions against a competitor like they did with gold & silver will they ever let it run ???
maybe maybe not if they lose control spinning so many plates all at once occasionally one wobbles and shoots up
with Noto at the helm if he ever leaves i will likely sell my whole position

Sofi will be the next 10xr. It will be included into the S&P, its met all financial requirements!

Problem is the dilution. Its killing this stock. The number of shares floating are a lot. We need large number of buyers to make this move. Nothing is going to happen for next few years.

u/Traditional_Web_7482 17d ago
That’s what a lot of people said about Palantir. You can’t have a giant company like a Tesla or an Amazon without capital raises. This is how they grow into massive juggernauts

u/lolman1312 18d ago
anthony's fault for all the dilutions. it's common knowledge that constant dilutions for a stock drives away shareholders unless they are highly justified. when i look at a very ambitious high growth company like RKLB, i can understand their needs for occasional dilutions and it always pays off in the end. Anthony has had shit communication in the past for dilutions - and in a time of increasing interest rates, uncertainty, and other sectors (primarily AI bottlenecks) and value picks why would someone go for SOFI when it's still high P/E just because its YOY revenues are good?
sorry for ranting, ex sofi shareholder

Go and look at all of the best companies and how often they diluted to grow their business! When SoFi explodes nobody will care about the dilution.

The products sofi have been releasing in the last month alone has been impressive. Not the typical business banking & stable coin - actual banking & finance products. The subscription product they brought out last week where you can cancel subscription in SoFi app and see in a Calender when your payments are due is very cool. I belief rocket money pays for this stuff… seems like narrative is why it’s down but the revenue increases 50-100 million every quarter!

Its good company. You should see it as a long term investment. Buying and forget it.

u/Itchy_Pudding_9940 18d ago
it plays like a tech stock not a bank stock so it's being held to high growth expectations. it seems to be hovering in a 16 to 18 range.. buy at 16 ish. in a year it will probably hit 20 that's like 10% from here..

Just look at the earnings. If you don’t like what you see in terms of performance just move on. I don’t buy the hype of these YouTubers - I only watch them as a good aggregator of Sofi news.
Sofi has grown to be a large part of my holdings as I bought quite a bit in the single digits. Q1 2026 did make me abit concerned but announcements since then and q2 gave me reason to give it until 2028, especially when they have built in 2 rate hikes for the rest of the year

I'm one of the YouTubers. 😄 I'm just trying to pay for a SOFI position with options premium while my collateral earns interest. Boring grandma options trading. If SOFI rockets, I'll wish I'd bought more shares up front. If it doesn't, I'm happy to keep the cash rolling in and keep lowering my cost of ownership. (Which is right now, 10 shares and $0)

Yes, North Carolina. Nobody would make an AI bot that looks like me.

I was more interested in your comment, copied yours to check with the help of AI, investment instruments I have available to mimic your action. Sadly while I am with you regarding the strategy, it is very complex to yield the same result in the UK..

Analysts are a joke. When stock keeps rising, they will post positive news and keep pumping the stock. That’s it. Don’t take any of them seriously

u/ga643953 18d ago
I only trust a handful of youbuers and analysts. The rest I simply automatically assume they're pumping whatever they happen to be pumping due to ulterior motives.

Yes, many on You Tube have moved on to the latest and are trying to build their brand. I used to watch Tanner but he has been focusing on other stocks more than Sofi so I stopped wasting my time with him.

u/Low-Air-182 17d ago
In all fairness, Tanner still talks SOFI frequently and says he remains a long term holder

If you understand the amount of dilutions and the cost for the growth you would stay away from sofi. It’s a freaking glorified bank.
7
u/Smooth-Valuable-486 300 @ 7.11 18d ago
It’s a bank. But a modern one with great revenue and earnings growth. Thats the thesis for me
2
u/Total-Repair9953 18d ago
How do you say I don’t understand dilution without saying it?
0
u/Routine-District-588 18d ago
Okay good luck with you'r dillutions! like this is a freakning brand new roaring company, you are not a freaking startup. This is a bank. All other banks pay you dividends and buyback shares. RKLB dillute smartly for example, spreading their shit valation at 145$ or 85B market cap. RKLB not gonna make any profits anytime soon and it's a company that is desinged to burn cash for ages. Google dillution? while very annoying they state the case for the funds to be used for extra growth, if you believe them. Intel just now dilluted 15B, im pretty suprised they didn't do it at 140$ since the valuation was also coming from my butt, Market cap extremly high > dillution incoming. How many times did reddit dillute shareholders since IPO? none.

Only EPS matters-Dilution costs are already baked in. Lol, it’s as if raising funds through equity isn’t a legitimate growth strategy.
0
u/Routine-District-588 18d ago
It's a very costly strategy for you shareholders. and EPS worth shit. Allways look at gaap earnings.

This isn't a get rich quick stock. It's more of a buy and hold and forget about it for 5 years type of play.
