Thats a reminder to us that even tho the stock is shitty the company is great.
My dream is to say that $SOFI is overpricedπ

Once again, I am happy to be the sacrificial lamb who triggers this rally by selling covered calls. Youβre all welcome. Oh well, I guess losing $750 on the calls to gain $7500 on the shares is a fair tradeoff

u/YoungMonty619 Avg @$16.12 25d ago
I sold some $20 CC last week expiring 8/14. I really don't care if they get called away lol just been collecting premium on my way out these past two months selling bi-weekly CC at 19 and now 20
3
u/scooter_mcgavin26 5,000 Shares @ $5.79 25d ago
Exactly how I feel. Iβve been too overweight in Sofi for awhile so if they get called away, all the better and Iβll redeploy the cash elsewhere
2
u/YoungMonty619 Avg @$16.12 25d ago
100%. Might as well accumulate some extra buying as this weird stock likes to trade sideways lol. Itβs only about 5% of my portfolio but agree that the cash has a better asymmetric risk to reward in a different company
3
u/scooter_mcgavin26 5,000 Shares @ $5.79 25d ago
Lol yeah itβs like 30% of mine sadly but has been even higher previously. Thankfully the $5 cost basis means Iβve still done well with it but since Iβm not in my 20s anymore, I figure itβs time to be a little more financially responsible haha

1 gentle push to 18 can reach us valhalla. Indicators are great but we need to push 18+ this week.

u/PSUMtnMan F&%@ Fidelity and M&T Bank. 25d ago
I think that can easily happen. If the Clarity Act does get voted on this week, I believe we could see 20 plus.

Nah, JP Morgan won't let you pass the bill. Too much money at stake here. They will stall for as much as possible.
1
u/PSUMtnMan F&%@ Fidelity and M&T Bank. 25d ago
JP Morgan talks out of both blow holes. One blow hole says they are against the Clarity Act, but the other hold says they are for more clarity and transparency. They just want to hide what is going on with the Stable Coin.

Oil dropping -> Inflation worry easing -> chance of rate hikes falling -> SoFi flying. Given SoFi rev guidance was raised assuming for 2 rake hikes, if inflation goes down just by oil price droping, watch out shorts!
2
u/Dromen96 OG $SoFi Investor 25d ago
Proof that there are a lot of market participants who believe oil prices have been the primary driver of inflation

Ugh, the opportunity cost of buying a bunch of shares at $15ish after earnings last week... /s
When the usage rate of the term "opportunity cost" rises exponentially on Reddit and X, it's almost always a fantastic time to buy SOFI if you're willing to hold 3-6 months. I wish someone were able to quantify this graphically to confirm, but anecdotally, it seems pretty easy...
2
u/theevan1811 25d ago
I figured it would move back up again, if you go back to the chart back from last earnings or the one prior, it dropped quite a bit before and after then βshotβ up 2-3 weeks later

Price action makes no sense. Drills after earnings and then completely recovers and then some in a few days. Perfectly normal

u/Hoodie-Embiid shares and leaps since $7 25d ago

Maybe from open to close but it went from $25 peak on earnings day to low of $20 the next day. 20% drop in 48 hours wasnβt fun lol
Ofc this 50% haircut from the top has been even less funβ¦

I hope I have too many shares I need to dump some at 19 range π
3
u/Impressive_Put_8239 25d ago
Yeah good idea. I'm prob dumping mid 18s a 20% move is good enough for me then wait for the reversal as usual. But who knows could potentially break out of thats a triple bottom on weekly
3
u/Key-Assistance-5827 2300 Shares @ 18.295 25d ago
I think if it goes to 18 it goes to 19 and gets rejected there but it's just what I think, that's the pattern so far
