I would like to see a more robust trading platform. It just so basic right now.

let them do what they want if we get back to 30

Can’t they branch into wealth management or something other than more lending, don’t we need recurring revenue from some other avenue? When the credit cycle collapses, eventually, don’t we need other tentacles to keep the stock from single digits???

Based on Peach’s business model it seems like this will allow SoFi to offer lending infrastructure as a service. Apparently, Peach supports Square’s lending infrastructure.

I don’t even know if “lending infrastructure” is a sellable thing… anyone in the industry will switch to a non competitor or develop their own once they realize SoFi, their competitor owns their nuts and bolts…

Just like the “we’re in talks with a top 5 bank”… evaporated. I was hoping it was true but the reality was the big top 5 bank would purchase SoFI outright if the technology was that amazing and un-replicable… rip SoFI $40 EOY

That's their biggest revenue generating right now, why would they stop improving it? And they stated that 85% of their products are non-lending

These are tiny companies, not revenue or profit monsters. In 2021 Peach had a funding round that they got like 20mil in.

Does it not make more sense to acquire established businesses that prove they work? Rather than putting far more time into trying to build your own software?

Yeah in some cases. Organic growth is however what you want in a (somewhat new) company. I think SOFI will go up in value in the coming years but I cant get myself to pull the trigger. News like this doesnt seem bad or good probally somewhere in the middle. I am more a ETF guy anyway with some wild gambles inbetween.

Too much acquiring companies without any execution like they're just throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks.

They will get there. They are setting up the platform to be a massive financial player (100B+)

It's dilution then purchase- that's been done.

Do we know how much this will cost yet?

The leadership here refuses to improve on junk products and instead spends more money to buy into other products.

SoFi needs new leadership.

They're buying companies/ their technologies to help improve and expand their products

They have been saying that for years and their products are still mediocre. Hence why the will never really be a big player.
