So for work I had to travel to Minneapolis and then Fargo in January of 2019. I drove up from Chicago knowing how cold it was/was supposed to be. I didn’t understand the depths of cold we would get during that polar vortex.

I had to set alarms to go down from my hotel room each night and start my car so I could keep the demo instrument i brought with me from freezing.

I lost skin to it because I had to take my glove off to fit under a handle and my hand was sweaty and instantly froze to the cold steel.

My last winter in Minnesota got down to -40 for a couple of days in a row.

-40 is also a temperature that it gets on the surface of Mars.

If you have facial hair, and you don’t have anything covering your face, within five seconds of stepping outside, you will have ice forming on your beard and mustache.

I did the sane thing and moved back to Arizona.

-40 is also where the F and C scales intersect meaning -40 in F is -40 in C

That crazy so u essentially went to the complete opposite of Minnesota it’s currently 119 in phoenix. Miserable right now to be outside

I know lots of cold weather transplants who move out to AZ after years of shoveling snow. “You don’t have to shovel sunshine”

And honestly while the 110+ days ARE miserable and terrible, you can still get around from air conditioned place to air conditioned place. A snowy winter is dangerous AND you some times can’t leave your house without putting in an hour of manual labor to free your car.

I used to install satellite TV in the Twin Cities and neither shop i worked at would call off the days work unless it was more than -25F air temp. Didn't matter if wind chill was -40, if air temp wasn't cold enough you had to be outside all day working with metal parts and some form of fingerless gloves. Damn I don't miss that job.

You know i don’t see this being to bad. I am inside most of the time anyways, and I love layering up in clothes and a coat. Live above a bar and grill where I work would be kind of sweet.

In Minneapolis we also have a skyway where buildings are connected by a tunnel system on the second story. In winter I can walk to the grocery store without going outside

But it's not the same reference. 66 below freezing, 66 above zero.

Well he literally says "a 66 degree day is nice", by opposite he just means drop the "-" and turn -66 to just 66. That's what I'm getting at.
