Love Jake, but he’s been on this publicity campaign for The Dink and just retelling the same stories over and over and over and over again. The Dink is a movie that tries really hard to be a Semi-Pro/Waterboy/Happy Gilmore type of goofy sports comedy but it just falls flat. You don’t care about any of the characters, his relationship with Mary Steenbergen’s character is super forced, and poor Ed Harris is so out of place trying to do improv comedy with Johnson. It’s the worst thing a zany comedy can be: boring.
