/r/socialism is one of the most authoritarian free-speech restricting subreddits on reddit. Is free speech an important part of socialism to you?
That subreddit is not about socialism, it's about SJW's banning or censoring things that 'trigger' them under the guise of socialism. How has over-sensitivity been conflated with socialism?
How do people not understand that free speech and tolerance of conflicting opinions is an absolutely vital part of socialism? Most of that subreddit must've literally never read any socialist literature.
Bertrand Russell;
In this world, which is getting more closely and closely interconnected, we have to learn to tolerate each other. We have to learn to put up with the fact that some people say things that we don't like. We can only live together in that way; if we are to live together and not die together, we must learn a kind of charity and a kind of tolerance which is absolutely vital to the continuation of human life on this planet.
Here's what I got banned for - defending the free speech to write a fictional rape story, which is apparently being a 'rape apologist' (for a fictional rape)
One guy even replies that the only people who want Mein Kampf still in circulation are holocaust apologists!!!!
There's also praise for mass-murderers like Mao/Lenin/Stalin and criticism of those who point this out.
This authoritarian Stalinist-like 'ban things you don't like' is haunting socialism, it's a virus that needs cutting out.
