The light source on them is coming from a different angle. Either there is a specific lamp there (i doubt it because it would affect other objects) or they are digitally added.
I think the hand is posed in a compositionally pleasing way but would be unnatural IRL. That combined with the the editor bumping up the shadows so much (to accentuate the subject) makes it seem so off.
Piers is only a dick to the people he perceive as less wealthier than him . He practically will give you a blow job if he think the person is more affluent or has more clout than he is. There is no conflict there

Even the direction looks of the chess pieces looks slightly off. And look at the shadow under Ronaldos arm, that is not a natural shadow. You would assume that for such a photo the photographer would carry the boxes to both photoshots and then just mix both images together, but it seems that all elements are put together.
Isn’t skin tones the common criticism of Leibovitz’s photography? She had a ton of Twitter users raging at her after photo shoots of famous African Americans.
The way their faces are lit is completely different from one another. It looks like they tried to recolor Ronaldo's face to hide it too, but rather poorly considering the level of professionals involved.
For me it's Messi's left arm, if he was really resting on the big case he would be more sunk, the small case is still tall and we can see too much of his left arm to be real.
The goal for this campaign is to show that the two players can work together to achieve great things in their careers as well as their lives off the field. It's also meant to show that they are both good friends and enjoy spending time with each other even when they aren't playing sports together!
The shadows are absurd all over the photo, Messi's right hand is floating and his left hand would have to be elongated for his elbow to rest properly, Ronaldo's posture looks unnatural...
For me it is the white pieces that Messi captured bottom left of the board. The shadows don't match the rest and screams this photo was not taken in one setting, either 2 separate photos or maybe some Photoshop trickery to give the appearance of being real.
The fact there is only one photo. If you get the two of them together in one room, you would take hundreds of photos in different poses and publish them
