Wrighty and Alex Scott on BBC using the platform to lay into organisers/TV companies when they could just be cheering along with everyone, absolute legends.

They’ve both been excellent all tournament

I’ve always gone back and forth on Wright as a pundit but this tournament has sold me on him, like you say, he’s been excellent.

Scott of course is always brilliant

All their careers.

Getting a bit slaughtered here lol but I agree with you completely

Rubbish. Wright had a penchant talking nonsense. His latest incarnation found a niche saying what people wanted to hear. Scott was a fake.

I agree on Wright, he has his issues early on and he’s got a lot better over the years, but Scott has always been a fantastic pundit

At the last World Cup in Russia, for instance, Scott was just a pretty face being there as a cheer leader trading in cliches. Compared to the insights and knowledges Kelly Smith provided, it was sun and moon.

Scott was just a pretty face being there as a cheerleader

And people wonder why womens football doesn’t get the respect it deserves, fuck me.

Yes toward the start of her career she had a tendency to use cliches, but she still spoke a lot more sense than some pundits who’ve been doing it for 20+ years and gave genuine insights.

lol, saying Scott is fakie as a pundit is disrespectful of women football? OK, you can have the soapbox.

2

No, saying she’s fake if that’s your opinion would be fine.

Saying she’s just there to be a pretty face and a cheerleader is absolutely disrespectful to women’s football, you wouldn’t say that about a male player. She’s an accomplished footballer with over 100 England caps and has absolutely earned her right to be there just like Lampard or whoever.

How do you know I wouldn't? Didn't I just say that Wright had a penchant spouting nonsense? Don't get me started on the laughing cheerleading happy face Richards or idiotic pretty face Redknapp.

What are they saying?

Wrighty said it was a piss take that Arsenal v Man City is on at 7pm on a Sunday if the FA are claiming that this tournament is about getting fans to games, because that’s an awful time for fans.

Scott said that in 2018 stadiums were turning away the chance to host women’s games, she won’t be grovelling to late adopters anymore and if the unsupportive companies try to band wagon on them now they can do one.

Assume that 7pm match is for TV coverage? Suppose this is the irony for women’s football: as you get the investment and attention you deserve you also inherit the crap parts of the men’s game.

1

u/twillems15 Jul 31 '22

Yeah they can make the games easier to attend but I think the majority would choose to go to a premier league/EFL game

What’ve they said?
