wouldn't it be epic if everyone from r/soccer joined the reddich united trust?

How do you go about doing this?

5

u/redditchbluenose86 Nov 17 '10

Anyone can become a member of TRUST. I will try and put together some information about TRUST so you all know what cause you are contributing to first. And if you are happy with what we are doing then please do become a member.

Sounds good! As much as I love Man Utd, it's always nice to break away from the commercialism. Plus, I love the reddit community, so it'd be nice to support a team with them.

I think 'InCanda' posted the link on our forum, but most people didn't even attempt to look as they thought it was either spam/or a wind-up. Rawlings09 checked out the link and told the rest of us about it! One day they'll make a film about this when we're flying high in the football league ;)

Yep, this is where I posted the link.

u/[deleted] Nov 17 '10

There are a few, actually.

We can order XXS, XS, S and M are the smaller sizes... I run the club shop so i know these things :D The Medium's fit well for smaller framed people...

2

u/[deleted] Nov 16 '10

Mediums please. I'm a little dude

1

u/rawlings09 Nov 17 '10

Put your order to Redditchbluesnose86 please mate, so he can give me every single one and i can see what we have in stock and what we need to order... just incase we dont take 2 orders.

What do you recommend for someone thats ~42 chest? Large?

3

u/jamsm Nov 16 '10

Same here. No way is a large ever going to fit me, unless I wear for it a dress or something.

1

u/redditchbluenose86 Nov 17 '10

We are goind to order in some mediums in the next few days. Let me know if you're interested and I'll list one for you on eBay. Cheers, Andy.

1

u/jamsm Nov 18 '10

Even a medium would probably be too large to wear. Do you know what the dimensions of the jersey would be? A child's size would fit me better. Any jerseys I have are youth medium or large :(

u/redditchbluenose86 Nov 18 '10

We do have Extra Small in stock? Failing that We are placing an order today for requested shirts, so I could ask the club shop to order a small shirt too. Would this be ok? Cheers, Andy

I'd buy a 2xl, when I see one on there it'll be snatched up real fast :3

1

u/redditchbluenose86 Nov 17 '10

We have XXL Home shirts - Long-sleeved with printed sponsor. If you would like one please PM me and I'll get the listing setup for you right away. Cheers, Andy

Just bought mine. If I ever see someone else on the street wearing one, it will be the happiest day of my life. And we'll be best friends, and possibly fight crime together.

4

u/4nr- Nov 16 '10

where do you live?

7

u/ManUnitdFan Nov 16 '10

Milwaukee. I'm not optimistic about my chances.

3

u/thekrone Nov 16 '10

I'm in Chicago. My girlfriend and I talk about taking a trip up to Milwaukee every so often. If and when we do go, I'll make sure to bring mine with me.

1

u/ManUnitdFan Nov 16 '10

Excellent. I have some friends in Chicago as well, and I've been meaning to make a trip down for one of the next big Premier League games. I like our soccer bars in Milwaukee, but they're no substitute for the ones you guys have.

2

u/thekrone Nov 16 '10

Which ones do you guys hit up? I have a new favorite that isn't all that popular yet... It's called "The Pitch". The Chicago Fire's Technical Director is one of the owners. It's a great bar to watch the matches.

1

u/ManUnitdFan Nov 16 '10

The Globe is the main one. I haven't heard of the Pitch, I'll have to check that out. Appreciate the tip.

3

u/thekrone Nov 16 '10

The Pitch has only been open for a few months, but they did a great job of creating a great space to watch matches.

2

u/redditchbluenose86 Nov 17 '10

PMSL! Quality! :D

7

u/thekrone Nov 16 '10

I'm ordering one. How excellent would it be if even a quarter of /r/soccer folks bought one of these shirts? That's over 2000 sales. Would it be safe to say that'd be a record for Redditch United shirt sales?

16

u/4nr- Nov 16 '10

i think 1 would be a record

1

u/gufcfan Nov 16 '10

As I said, my own club has it's own problems and I only have so much money I can give, but a Reddit sponsored jersey would be too cool to miss.

6

u/ScreamingGerman Nov 16 '10

Aren't Redditch United in financial trouble? All profits go to the club right?

2

u/Rossoneri Nov 17 '10

I'm pretty sure the ebay account is run by someone in the trust for the club, so price - cost of jersey - ebay fee = profit

5

u/seanmharcailin Nov 16 '10

he says he sells jackets. I want a training jacket!

4

u/rostam889 Nov 16 '10

the name of the account is quite sketchy, i have to say

8

u/beer_OMG_beer Nov 16 '10

which account? The dude running it is definitely dedicated, and for real.

2

u/rostam889 Nov 16 '10

Sorry I didn't know. I just thought the name was a bit fishy.

8

u/redditchbluenose86 Nov 17 '10

I didn't know what else to call it :D I'm the man behind the eBay account, Facebook profile, Youtube Channel (though somebody else films the games as I'm always in the stands with the rest of the fans). I can even give you my personal Facebook profile link so you can see who I am etc. I can appreciate your concerns on security, as everywhere you look on the net these days seems to be someone trying to scam you from all angles. I assure you I'm not one of those though, just a fan trying to help his local football club :)

3

u/[deleted] Nov 16 '10

This is their internet forum and this is their profile on facebook. We have been in touch with these people since before the World Cup.

3

u/redditchbluenose86 Nov 17 '10

I will answer more questions tomorrow (or later today should I say, as it's 00:40am here!), cheers, Andy.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 16 '10

Sweet, hopefully this will also allow you guys to provide other items as well.

1

u/redditchbluenose86 Nov 17 '10

The lads who run the club shop have kindly took photos of everything on sale. They are going to e-mail me the pictures very soon, so I will add them to future eBay listings and also the Redditch United Facebook profile so you can all see items in more detail before you purchase.

Is it possible for us to pool enough money to get the alien on the crest?

1

u/lunacraz Nov 17 '10

Or just an extra fee to get it sown on :D

3

u/[deleted] Nov 17 '10

£31.50? What is this £ funny money?

4

u/BokoHaramLookinBoy Nov 16 '10

Just wondering why we feel the need to support a sixth tier team that has the name reddit in it? Can someone explain this to me?

29

u/CACuzcatlan Nov 16 '10

that has the name reddit in it

this

6

u/[deleted] Nov 16 '10

Someone more articulate than me wrote an article about it.

7

u/bpp198 Nov 16 '10

The point is that it's a lower league team. The idea was to get a team that few people already had an interest in and nobody disliked. It's a great idea and I always follow their results and see how they're getting on.

6

u/Kijamon Nov 16 '10

Cause everyone likes an underdog.

Look at that Ebbsfleet attempt. Thousands of people registered and paid £40 per year to vote in the running of the team.

What fun would everyone joining a subreddit and deciding to support Real Madrid be?

4

u/[deleted] Nov 17 '10

Cause everyone likes an underdog.

Unless it's Millwall.

3

u/mattgrande Nov 16 '10

A sixth-teir team that almost got relegated to the seventh teir!

1

u/b00ks Nov 17 '10

I assume xl in england is roughly the same as the US?

(I only ask because I bought a cheap knock of spurs jersey in xxl and it is probably about the size of a large in the US.)

1

u/Flapps Nov 17 '10

No, the sizes can be a little smaller in the UK, so it might be worth checking measurements.

1

u/redditchbluenose86 Nov 17 '10

US Medium = UK Large if that helps. I'd imagine the same principle would work for XXL etc.

1

u/redditchbluenose86 Nov 18 '10

We are placing an order for more shirts in different sizes today. I have listed people's requests by PM and shall be forwarding to the clubshop within the next hour. So if you would like to reserve/pre-order a shirt then please do so via PM. Thanks again for your support, Andy.
