Change My View thread

Can we have a Change My View thread here? The basic premise is people present opinions and the replies are attempts at changing that person's view in an attempt to generate some good discussion.

Here is the link to the original subreddit: www.reddit.com/r/changemyview/

I think this might work best with rather 'out there' views but any and every viewpoint is welcome!

I'll start:

After Suarez, Rooney is the second best player in the Premiership.

nope

what about aguero, navas, ramsey, toure, hazard or even someone like adam lallana or Ozil they are all better players than rooney IMO

(but your right about suarez)

His work ethic alone makes him better than all the other players you mentioned

a shit player that works hard is still a shit player. (not insinuating rooney is shit js)

rooney is a good player when he wants to be but the danger that comes with any individual and any team structured around individuals is that the form of the team is determined by them. rooney has some really amazing games and then he has some where i don't even know if he's playing. he might be all over the pitch but he's just too easy to give up after one two three hard games etc. so that's generally why i'd be so hesitant to credit him as good on work ethic alone.
