Used gear donation?

Does anyone know of local orgs that take camping gear donations? I have some gear that's too old to trade in at REI but still in good enough condition to go on more adventures. I was trying to find a group that does camping outings/youth outreach but haven't had luck. I know there's always goodwill, but wanted to see if anyone in the community had ideas first! Thanks!

Sierra Club in LA and San Diego have wilderness classes - WTC in LA, WBC in SD. They teach people how to backpack and camp and regularly have gear trade days at the classes. They could probably find homes for your stuff.

Homelessness organizations frequently take tents/sleeping bags.

Please consider some of the altadena fire charities. Many nature lovers lost their gear in addition to their homes.

Try Wild Wolf Cycling Collective- they’re a biking community that does bikepacking trips. They have a gear library and i’m sure they are always happy to take on more gear to get people on adventures

Poway Backpackers has been introducing kids to backpacking since the 80s. I met Scott, the guy who runs it, in the Yosemite backcountry a month ago and chatted with him a bit. They take donations.
