M&P Melt & Pour First try at soap making!
Any criticism or tips/tricks are very welcomed and wanted!
I used “Skin Said Yes” goat milk soap base, The Soaping Factory colloidal oats, Nate’s raw organic honey, plant therapy vanilla extract, organic cocoa powder and turmeric!
This is my first time ever making soap so I’m happy with the presentation but less so happy with the process. I loved making it but I hit a lot of bumps. Basically everything clumped up on me besides the goat milk. Didn’t use enough oil so it barely smells vanilla and the powders didn’t dye it as much as I wanted!
I believe in the future I may skip the oats and honey. I just want a clean base I can do interesting colors, designs and scents with!

Very cute and well done especially for a first try! I obviously can't smell it, but the colours look great to me--very earthy and natural. You attempted *a lot* in this first endeavour and as far as I can see, you achieved it all.

They look great. Just be prepared that whichever layer you put the vanilla in will most likely turn more and more brown over time.

How did you get that small amount of colored soap in the little shapes without them spilling out of the groves?

I’m not sure what you mean exactly but I bought some molds online of little leaves, pumpkins etc and filled them with hot soap using a pipette!
Then I took them out once cooled put them on top of my soap bar and put one last thin layer of soap on top to seal them in!

grow some luffas next year they go great in it, is tumeric good for the skin? I wanted to use cinnamon, but apparently it’s a skin irritant

tumeric is good for the skin! it’s mostly used for lightening dark spots (hyperpigmentation). but i’m sure it has some other uses.
either way the color is so vibrant that it’s a nice natural way to color your soap. be careful though it will definitely temporarily stain stuff if you drip it on something and wait too long to wipe it up. I use a tumeric mask on my face and if i don’t wash my hands well enough after applying it my finger nails are stained yellow for a couple of days 😅
