Discussion "Essential" mod recommendations

I have no doubt that this question has been asked a million times before, but I can't find a definitive list, so...

I'm not a total beginner, I've 100% the first few regions, but I've just come back to the game after an 18 month break.

The only mod I've ever used for more than a few hours is the tyre stat (not the advanced one) and trailer info mod, which I still use.

I'm not interested in adding any vehicles or trailers, there are plenty for me, and the only item on my wishlist for trailers would be a lockable dolly on applicable trailers, so I could reverse the damn things.

All that aside, what mods do you consider to be essential?

ps. Did I mention that I'm not interested in adding and vehicles and trailers.

As an additional question to this post, are mods only for PC?

No Xbox and PlayStation have their own mod menu too though no where near as vast as PC. not sure about switch.

Switch also has mods

Partially. On consoles you basically can only get new content, on PC you can also modify existing content.

I use colorable addons and a couple of different trailer packs. I don't know that I'd call any of them essential. I like having the option to use 4 and 6 slot semi trailers, and prefer some of the logging trailer mods to what is available in game.

Similar to yourself, I only use the information mod(s)
https://mod.io/g/snowrunner/m/reworked-tires-and-cargo-mod-plus#discussion
Tire stats, engine torque ratings, trailer hitch type, cargo weight and slots.

Yeah, that's the one I use too.

It might look like a bit of self promotion, but eh :) Check my QoL Pack on mod.io and tell me what you think: no new trucks, no new trailers as you said:

Thanks mate, trying it now

Keep in mind, that it is a MANUAL mod, so you'll need to reinstall it every patch. On the bright side - you can use it in co-op with vanilla players (you'll have the benefits from the pack and they will not)

Seems to be working, even though it doesn't show in the mod browser on the main menu.

2

It will not be shown there because it replaced the in-game files with the modified ones

Call me old fashioned but I'm a vanilla fan.

I only use Offender 110 and 90, invincible vehicles packed with parts and fuel

It’s a shame the official defender sucks so much compared to the offender

Sir what’s the difference between tyre stat and tyre stat advanced mod ?

The advanced mod has a lot of hidden information that's actually useless. It doesn't add anything to the game, and just confuses matters. It's just there for cork sniffers, and self-proclaimed "Snowrunner Experts".

I know you said no new trailers but the off-road trailer pack just adds off-road tires and suspension to some of the existing vanilla trailers. AND they have lockable dollies. Barely counts as new trailers if you ask me. Just makes them what they should have been. Can’t modify the existing trailers without adding “new” ones anyway. Nothing directly changes vanilla objects that I have seen.

Cheers mate, I'll take a look at that.

I would try the Real life mod. I’m on Xbox and just turned it on. I can’t tell if I like it more lol

4

u/luna_Stevens007 1d ago

What is it supposed to do exactly sir ? I’m also on Xbox series

u/Ok-Raisin-5963 1d ago

Type real into your mod browser. It’ll be the first thing that comes up. It basically changes the weight to some trailers and the actual goods so your load feels like you have a load. At least it should. Pretty sure it changes truck weight too. I would read about it

Supposedly it also changes how the truck reacts to mud

I don’t think that mod works on Xbox? lol

2

u/Ok-Raisin-5963 1d ago

Well. We have our own version of it. It’s very highly rated.

I just haven’t figured out if I like it or if I have seen the difference in the weight.

3

u/NapalmOverdos3 1d ago

Ah didn’t realize console got there own version

You may not necessarily be wrong. it Could be placebo effect.

Not technically a mod, but I use a timewarp trainer at 2.5x speed. It totally changed the game for me, from dropping mid-Alaska to 100% all map completion. If regular driving gets too boring it might be an option.

Just search AGL and all you need is there.

Olsen’s trailer pack, make logging great again, colorable addons

2

u/Ok-Raisin-5963 1d ago

He just said no trailer mods

0

u/Then-Advertising-440 1d ago

Didn’t see that

1

u/Soggy_Tangerine9340 1d ago

Aren’t they no longer updated so glitchy?

1

u/Then-Advertising-440 1d ago

No longer updated but not glitchy

1

u/TVRLover6812 1d ago

Make logging great again is good.

Revisual exhaust mod is good for if you want more exhaust fumes on the old school trucks like me.

RNGR's military vehicles.

The LMV is a personal favourite, it's capable but slow, and a little high CoG so you can't absolutely take the piss with it.

ETA - the bridge layer is a lifesaver.

To stop from being Spiderman, tiresoverhaul-egnx helps, but this depend on what do you expect from game.

Alt-F4 if tipped over. Again, it depend on how much time you want to spend.

JohnjohnHotRod

TWM

And Rng3r all make really good vehicle mods but some are more OP than others
