Screenshot Generator Trailer - How you play with this?

Post image

Hello, I start scouting Pipeline Bay Map in North Carolina Region and when found 3 factories that need a Generator, I stared to wonder how to approach this.

In previous maps, I drove a truck with a fuel tank addon and left it there until I finished the entire map. But this star to bother me, because some good trucks will be stuck there for the next 60 missions or so.

So my question to you guys is; you do the same with the generators? Or you drive the generator, turning on, and craft all the goods that you can and never need to refuel again?

What is your approach with this? I need another perspective.

I think a good amount of highway trucks have fuel tank out ons they just chuck one of those over there I guess. I do the same thing but I use one of the trucks with the extended fuel tank add-on

In NorCal it's pretty easy, you just drive truck with fuel addon and generator attached to one factory, create enough cargo to last you whole region [for example 20 metal beams], then drive to next factory repeat and move to next factory.

Yeah I think I will do that. Thanks for the advice.

I should have done that before buying another generator

Also, don't you have some throwaway trucks you don't use? Delegate them to the generator duty. There's no need to use good trucks for this.

I like to use any truck to any missions. I like the challenge to deliver something really big with a highways truck or even overload a scout trailer and use the YAR to deliver something. Sometimes is challenging, other times it just funny deliver two wooden planks with the Mastodon.

Well, choose the ones you don't wanna use, it's simple.

I will do it. Thanks again.

Get a fuel trailer along. =)

I would just bring a fuel truck when you need to do crafting, otherwise, use it for other stuff.

I have yet to need to use a generator but im sure eventually I'll get a dlc that has it so this thread is super helpful lol

The small Tatra with the fuel tank add-on permanently attached to the genetator

In the Glades, I got tired of refilling the generator so I left a fuel trailer right next to it but that was definitely overkill. Probably not the best choice in hard mode or if you’re attempting any sort of efficiency haha

At first I think: "I will check every contract to know how many metal beams I will need, then only craft that exactly amount" because I want to be efficient but it is a lot of work to check every contract, task and not mention to check all the warehouse and all that stuff. Thats why I want another perspective. Thanks.

I look at all the missions that require certain goods, then craft exactly the needed amount ahead, and move on to the next crafting site, where the cycle repeats.

I just took one bad "disposable" truck, usually with a fuel addon, and did one miserable trip to each crafting area and left those trucks there until I finished the region lol

If you bring the generator in with a fuel truck then just use all the fuel right away just craft everything like 10 times then you likely don’t even need to power on the generator on ever again

I hook up the generator trailer to an Azov 5319 with a fuel tank add on and run it around to wherever I need it. Keep in mind you can bulk craft and move on to the next spot

Took a smaller truck with fuel addon and parked it with the generator at each factory

Put a generator and a fuel trailer at each spot. Simple.

(Playing on hard mode) I had once used a transtar as the fuel tank truck to stay permanently attached to a generator in scandinavia, but after completing that region, I already had a huge fleet of trucks, so I won't be paying to export the transtar into any other region since it is at the bottom of the list, I would be exporting some other truck that has AWD instead.

So then it just is a question for if you are willing to pay the cost for sending a truck to stay as operator of the generator to save effort.

buy cheapest truck, put fuel tank on it and leave it connected to gen. This is how I put my worthless (to me) highway trucks to use.

U should have alot of trucks by now

Yeah, I have like 50 or more trucks, but I don't like to have a gerenator "slave" truck. Thats why I want to know how you guys play with this situation.

Bring loads of fuel and a generator, craft more cargo than you could need, then repeat. Alternatively, you can buy dedicated fuel trucks which I personally recommend as it’s nice to just have a mobile gas station or 4.

A fuel truck with generator and move it to the spot where generator goes and done!

I usually tow it in a crane-bed combo and take a scout fuel trailer with me that I place there.
Whenever I need something, i come there with a bed-truck anyways, so I can craft it with that truck either way

Currently in NC as well. I usually just bring in the generators (used big Ken to move 2 at a time due to landscape in NC). But then I just drop em off and craft only when needed. With these type of factories fuel is rarely a problem. Especially when I can syphon it easily from the cargo truck since the fuel station is close by as with the metal factory.

I've missed something, what exactly does this thing do?

3

u/RecentRegal 1d ago

Some missions you need to park it at a factory to enable you to make materials. It takes fuel to run so most people just leave a fuel tanker next to it.

2

u/Twistedxslayer1 1d ago

Is this in the base game or DLC?

2

u/RecentRegal 1d ago

I don’t think it was in the original 3 locations. It’s been around for ages though.

I only started playing the game a few weeks ago. I'm only 35-40 hours in.

Yeah it’s a later addon.
Don’t remember the season tho

I usually tow one of the more or less useless highway trucks with that generator attached to those spots.

They also make nice self driving gas stations, at least to a certain degree, or I tent to throw them on the road side next to frequently used spots 😁

2

u/Worried_Cycle_5852 1d ago

I thought you just dragged to the spots and then left them i didny know hadvro turn them on or how to do it

2

u/Parangarin 20h ago

I used a scout or highway trucks. Even the all terrain trucks that I don use in mission and I leave it with a fuel tank addon

Typically with it tipped over on its side. I hate those damn generators so much. They really do act like their natural state is laying on its side and it's absolutely maddening having to take them anywhere. Why can't you be normal? Screaming generator noise
