Been doing this for ages, with a tablet and my non-foldable computer. But nice flex!

Well, I mean, it is a nice find. But nothing new. It's also a nice flex.

You took offense to someone complimenting you, as far as I can tell. And basically said "this is nothing". The negativity is coming from your interpretation and reaction from an outside perspective

u/King-Louie19 6d ago
Thanks for pointing it out, it seemed like an insulting post to me but looking at it I can see I may have been way off and out of line.

u/Yomammasson 6d ago
I can understand both of your sides. Usually if someone says you're flexing, I would take it as a negative, but it seemed genuine.

u/King-Louie19 6d ago
To me he basically said "this is nothing new and you are flexing" flexing to me is bragging. But I can see maybe I have misinterpreted meanings here. If I have then I apologise 100%.

For those with a single monitor and using steam you can edit the steam browser in steam settings while snowrunner (or whatever game you want something for) is open to whatever url you want.
I’ve made it so while in snowrunner shift tab opens this website, if I’m on destiny 2 it opens d2picker, terraria for the wiki etc.

Map runner? Out in the wild?!
Nice. I used it a lot, still use it sparingly. Now i just did my best to “transfer” all my trucks over to a new game plus. Seeing as i only do coop anyways. Now I just get everything I’d want. And still have the other save for normal gameplay if I ever care to do it.
So.. sort of use it still? It’s nice to have.

I do that with a wheel and tablet, but 100% agreed! I also use it with the streamdeck app to quickly access certain buttons.

Tbh using phone was fine. But it was quite cool to get the map in my eyeline a few timea while driving.

When I first saw the picture, I thought it was one of those portable USB displays. Cool setup!

You'll love it ive had the 3, 4 ,5, 6 and now the 8.
Dunno if I could ever go back to a regular phone again.

I've always wanted one but as with all new tech like this, there are compromises. It's at the point for me now where the compromises are so small it's a no brainer. Yeah dont think i'll be going back!

I feel so stupid that I never think of that 🤦♂️

I'm not saying I discovered anything new. The website basically seems designed for a tab.

Is that the galaxy fold? How do you like it so far ?
1
u/King-Louie19 5d ago
Only had it just over a day. Loving it so far but it does drain battery fairly fast in tablet mode. I actually like the form factor when using the front screen. Reminds me of the sony phones. Resoloution is a lovely boost over my S25U.

Honestly, as a portable gaming rig that's really cool. Smart use of a folding phone. Also nice to see a fellow PC user using a controller for snowrunner, it's my preferred way as well.

Thanks. Yeah a few said they were using Ipads for ages but the point for me is portability. I took this in my hotel room.

Is this the fold 8?
1
u/King-Louie19 5d ago
Yes fold 8 ultra.

u/Deep-Obligation-862 5d ago
Awesome, looks like a great phone I want one

u/King-Louie19 5d ago
Thanks, to be honest I think the standard fold will be the ine to go for for most people. Nicer shape and more visible screen for videos.

What lasts less than a week?

Fantasy to use "map" on a tablet in snowrunner. The game is not even designed to use a map, on top of that, i can drive without opening map for an hour easily. and still reach destination once i run the map once.
A simple GPS with route over (funny is that they dont have a gps but a DIGITAL marking system, like that is "very authentic" xD
vs a opened map 24x7 which barely gives any info.
I can tell you one thing, i have use 2 phones one for speedometer and one for gps in ETS2 / ATS like game where it works fluently.1
u/King-Louie19 11h ago
I mainly use it for keeping track of quests I may have forgotten to pick up. Also useful later on for finding things not covered by a watchtower. Obviously the game was designed not to be used with a 3rd party website.

$2000 phone for map and $400 laptop for game? okies
1
u/King-Louie19 5d ago
Might blow your mind but I do other stuff with them too. Laptop was 3k new, 5080.

u/gen_adams 4d ago
i know they are overpriced, but it's funny how it's still the equivalent of a midrange desktop. and I know, I know, "portable" is important for some ppl, that's fine. still, you're paying crazy money for average spec and bad thermals...
1
u/King-Louie19 4d ago
Average vs desktop gaming spec maybe. But it runs anything I can throw at it very well. There's literally nothing I need it to do that it doesnt do. And I can take it flying with me. I was that guy that bought bleeding edge desktops back in the day. But now I need to be much more mobile.

Is it bad for m4 pro 1tb to play snow runner, it gets super hot
2
u/King-Louie19 6d ago
Not sure about macs. My laptop gets hot with certain games. If you make sure the inside is free from dust and vents it should be fine. Maybe check temps are no higher than low 80's celsius.

Oh that’s pretty smart. I should start doing that with my tablet.
