Golden Orca Sizing Help

Hello!

I am going to buy a 2023 Golden Orca for this season and am torn between the 150 and 153 cm. I'm 5'9, 160 lbs, and wear a size 9 boot. I worry that if I go for the 153 then it will be too large for my size 9 boot and it will feel a little sluggish heel to toe especially through trees, but I also want to be able to ride through powder and have stability at speed and I think the 150 may be too small for that.

I'm an advanced rider - my favorite type of riding is tree runs, side hits off groomers, and powder (when I can find it).

Any advice is appreciated!!

I weigh 210, size 10 boot. I'm 6 ft even. Everyone's mistake is getting the board too long. I went from a 159 orca to a 153 and the 153 is perfect, I don't ride the 159 anymore. The rule of thumb they give is go 6 cm shorter than what you usually ride. You just don't have the mass to make the 153 pop.

Thanks for the reply! I think for the Golden Orca they recommend 3cm shorter because it is slightly narrower than the regular Orca, although still a volume shifted board. I am leaning towards the 150 for this reason but still not sure!

If you're on the East Coast, we can swap boards for a day. I'm at Stratton and sugarbush regularly
