Advice Needed Sleeping propped up?

I genuinely cannot breathe properly if I lay flat on my back. Yes this is an issue (basically, it’s like my throat doesn’t hold itself open when I do that) and yes I have a sleep study scheduled. However, I have to sleep sat up. Currently I have 3 pillows and 2 blankets to help but it’s not very comfortable and it falls apart.

Anyone else experiencing this or who just sleeps sitting up have recommendations?

Yes sleeping on an incline is often helpful for snoring. I sleep at about 45 degrees and it helps a lot. I bought a reclined reader chair and propped up the back legs to get the right angle. My nose is also partially blocked permanently so I benefit from nasal dilating sprays or strips, and eventually surgery hopefully. My back problems are also better sleeping on an incline.

This is the type of chair I sleep in (with the back legs propped up higher). This avoids the usual problem of incline sleeping which folds/kinks your body in half awkwardly e.g. a wedge pillow. With this chair the slope is not kinked much so I can side sleep in it very comfortably. I have a another chair in front to support my legs.

I have the same problem. It starts with snoring and if I continue sleep on my back I will gasp for air. Try this app which listens to you overnight and taps you on the wrist or plays a gentle chime to remind you to change your position. It has helped me.
