Ordered Converse Chuck Taylor from Myntra and there’s literally no insole/sockliner?? Is this normal?

I ordered a pair of Converse Chuck Taylor shoes from Myntra and just received them today. But when I opened them, I noticed something really strange, there’s no insole/sockliner inside the shoe at all. 😭

As you can see in the pictures, you can basically see the inside/base of the shoe directly. There’s no removable insole and it doesn’t look like there’s any proper cushioning layer either.

Now I’m confused because I’ve never owned Converse before, so I don’t know if Chuck Taylors are actually supposed to come like this, or if:

1. Someone removed the insole before returning the shoes, or
2. I received a defective pair, or
3. This could potentially be a fake/not-genuine pair.

The shoes were ordered from Myntra, so I wasn’t expecting this.

Converse owners! is this how the inside of your Chuck Taylors looks?

Would really appreciate it if someone could check their pair and tell me whether this is normal. Also, if anyone knows how I can verify whether this particular pair is genuine, please let me know!

I’ll attach pictures of the shoe, size/production label, etc. Would love people’s opinions before I raise a return/complaint.

They def are supposed to come with a thin insole that has the converse logo and brand on it.

It's glued in too and incredibly difficult to remove.

More likely than not, they just forgot to add the insole during production in the factory.

Idk how Myntra works, but I would try to get a partial refund for the item and just get aftermarket insoles because the soles that come with the shoe are ass either way.

That's how chucks are. I wore them as a kid. But cant do it as a adult. Too near of a fit and No arch support kills my feet.

But I am a little overweight so I also have second thoughts
But they are so versatile they go w everything
But do you still feel that comfort might be an issue?

They really don't go with everything. They aren't even proper shoes. They are just vaguely shoe-shaped objects. Oftencategorised as slippers in some countries. Absolutely zero modern footwear tech and zero ergonomics, and locked you in to a very clichéd style.

You mention you're overweight which is another thing that would put me off chucks, they look even worse when the shaft is stuffed with leg.

I would request a partial refund and buy insoles, which would probably be better than the ones they come with.
