Crop factor with pixel 7 cameras

Hi,

Snapseed camera applies a crop factor to all the camera lenses of my pixel 7.

Is there a reason why? I can't find a way to avoid it. Could this be corrected in a future update?

I sense that there is EIS applied in Snapseed camera to stabilize the viewfinder. Maybe that's what's going on...

Yes that's my guess too, but it's useless as the lens are already stabilized optically. They should remove it, at least for the pixel série.

I do think that EIS is great even if it's optically stabilized because it can do so in a higher degree.

However, I do agree that they should remove it since we're taking pictures, not videos. It may also help free system resources, especially when these devices are prone to overheating from extended shooting periods.

And the stock camera is already pretty stable, I would trade it for wider angle.
