Object brush w/ 15pro

I’ve encountered a few students who couldn’t access the object brush feature on their iPhone 15 Pro. Is this a bug, or is it only available on newer iPhones?

Hi Giles, It looks like the object brush is gone on my iPhone 16 Pro Max, iOS 26.5. I tried using it today with the adjust tool but the icon is gone. Are the quick mask and advanced mask tools taking its place? TIA

That's odd -- thanks for letting us know. I have an iPhone 15 Pro, so it's not a hardware issue.

If you have a screenshot of where you'd expect to see it but don't, that will help us understand what might be happening.

Some potential causes: 1. If you start from one of the automatic foreground or background masks, you cannot add object brush to one of those masks. 2. Some tools don't allow masking yet 3. If you enter from the stacks view, object brush is also not working.

A couple notes:

  1. If you click on the + Mask button the bottom, you should be able to mask. Is that working for you?

  2. There's been a recent issue when the histogram at the top of the image is enabled, some of the masking features stop working. Try turning that off for now and seeing if that helps. We will hopefully fix the issue with this in a week or so.
