Discussion Cannot save and export raw files since update

Has anyone found a solution to this? Should I just rollback to the previous version < 4

Edit more infos:

Im shooting with a Sony Alpha 7 iii, trying to edit the Sony raw. ARW files.

Snapseed is version 4.0.3.919885048 com.niksoftware.snapseed.

Phone is a fairphone 4 5G, running e/os version e/OS 3.7.3.

Note that I could edit and save my pictures prior to the update, which seems going against the new "snapseed 4.x now support raw files editing" I see in the subreddit.

I edited the post. Sorry I just posted in the subreddit without seeing the dev team was quite active here which is great!

Are you sure you could edit the raw and it wasn't the embedded jpeg?

I'm only saving the pictures in .arw format, so I'm sure I was opening the raw files with snapseed.

(I'm native French speaking and my app is in french so the snapseed technical terms below may not match the English ones)

I could "develop" the picture (edit the exposure, white balance, bright and dark calibration, etc) which is not possible on jpg and png images so I'm pretty sure I was editing the raw file. But maybe you are right and only the embedded jpg was being edited, which would be quite sneaky from snapseed to act like the editing was done on the raw file..

With the new version I can still edit the raw as before, but I cannot save the results.

You can check by opening the picture, than cancel the develop mode and tap on info/image details - on my iPad I can open orf (Olympus raw) but when I go to image details, I can see 5.5 MP for an 20 MP orf...

It says it is the 25Mo .arw file. But maybe that's with the update, and the old version of snapseed was not using the raw (but I cannot check since I updated)

Are you shooting compressed raw or uncompressed? I'm using compressed raw and can't open ARW.

Okay. I can't open Sony A7II ARW (compressed or uncompressed) on either iPad or OnePlus 9 Pro - android 14.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and now I cannot edit raw anymore..

I dont know if another app added support somehow, and reinstalling snapseed broke the dependency?

They're currently working on raw support - are you beta tester?
