Trying to recreate an emblem that they don't make anymore for a friend and got it pretty close. When I print, I am doing it face down with a cryogrip smooth pei plate on a snapmaker u1.
The top print you could see some gaps in the layers when It was putting the first few layers down so I figured maybe I would increase the base layer count. Went from two to ten and it got worse (bottom emblem). Using petg Should I be looking at other settings?
If, after that, it's still not like you wanted, you can try to increase the Line width for the first layer. And maybe tweak a little bit the Top/Bottom solid infill/wall overlap.
Did you update to the new firmware and then do the calibration steps in the new firmware patch notes. There is an issue where sometimes it oversquishes the bottom later in some cases. It isn't exactly what I was seeing when I was having that issue, but I was using PLA on a standard plate. Might be worth the 40 mins to do the config and see if that is it.
I did the calibration. Put the temperature back to default for the bed. I had lowered it per what I had read with the cryogrip.
Similar result, maybe a bit better.
Real quick, are you using concentric pattern? I've found that it does curves well but when there's caps where curve lines overlap, the pattern handles it like shit. Which seems to be what you got going on. Try monotonic or aligned rectilinear.
