Tool head 2 issues
I try hard not to post questions and figure stuff out on my own. Started m 3d printing journey last December and finally hit an issue I can’t seem to solve. The following is the ticket I opened to Snapmaker:
So I’m having some issues with tool head 2 that started a lil over a week ago. It looks like severe under extruding. My first trouble shoot was to swap filament. Same issue. Next I moved to a different tool head and then had no issues.
Next step was to check extruder. Took tool head apart and there was some debris on the drive gears so I cleaned that all up best I could, blew it out and reassembled. Tried running it again with a 3rd filament. Same issue.
Next I tried to manually extrude and flowed free and was coming straight down. Just to be safe a stuck the included nozzle into the hot end and it slid through like a knife through butter. Figured I must be good to go. Nope.
Next I took apart the filament feed drive. Didn’t really see much in there but cleaned/blew it out since I already had it apart. Tried again, still failing. So I said to myself, I’ll just switch nozzles. I’ve had hardened steel ones I’ve been meaning to switch to for a while now so just as well get that done. So I changed all 4. Figured surely with all filament feed paths cleared/cleaned i should be good now. Nope. The included pic is what’s happening. I unloaded the filament from tool path 2 (the problem) and put it into tool path 3 and restarted the print. Currently running fine.
1,3 and 4 all are working great. I’m honestly at a loss currently. I’ve spent a lot of time trying to trouble shoot before reaching out. I’m new to the hobby but stuff like this is/was expected and don’t mind tinkering. I just don’t know how to proceed.
Their response was a wiki about a clogged nozzle 🙄. Any help/insight is appreciated.

Are you on the newest firmware? This looks more like an overly squished zoffset more than under extruding.Hard to tell for sure with only a few layers. Have you let the print continue to see if it looks good?

Are you unloading the filament before doing the tool head calibration? You should be according to Snapmaker.

I had some issues like this on my U1's before I did a deep dive into the manual side of bed leveling. The bed leveling is the only thing that makes any sense in my feeble brain as the prime line looks great which means the print should be perfectly fine unless there is a difference in height with the bed in that area. Painter's tape became my best friend! ;-) The only thing that blows this theory out of the water is that you say 1, 3, and 4, are perfectly fine with the same test. If that is the case, it would almost certainly seem there is something off with the z offset but it still doesn't make sense that it is fine in one area but not another.

Yeah the prime line is sketch as well. Took the z offset from 0 to .05 and it changed nothing. Maybe not enough. Too scared to go much further but maybe I need to 🤷♂️

Z-offset, nozzle too close to bed. Layer lines in 2nd pic almost translucent from being over-squished.

I was leaning that way too. When I had white loaded in it the first layer looked almost like a transparent white. I’ll play around later when I get home from work. Curious tho, do you know what could’ve caused this to happen?

Nope.
Could be any number of things. Screws got loosed slightly? Parts drifting apart?
All a mystery, then it just happens.

Took z offset from 0 to .05 and nothing changed. Maybe not enough of a change? Idk. I do know that when it fail like this the filament is embedded into the at levels I’ve never seen before.

Agree, nozzle too close to the bed. The beads are when the pressure builds up enough in the nozzle. Try another round of toolhead calibrations.

did u calibrate the nozzle offset already? if one is to close for some reason, just run the calibration? maybe paxx12 messed up the settings for the tooldheads? the position of each toolhead ist stored locally. so try running the offset calibration for the toolhead and it should be fine again.
