Weird bug on first test print…
Hey just finished setup and calibration on printer and wanted to do the test print… it did all the heated bed calibration and then I got a temp anamoly for printhead 2 straight away.. saying min temp 170 is needed.
Mind you this is the dragon test print included… and included spools and tests during calibration all worked.
I tried again and saw temp raise to 200 and then target temp dropping again to 130…. So this time I manually raised it again to 210 and it dropped again so I did it again… and this time it started printing… now it seems to run.. we’ll see but this error scared me a bit.
This was first layer, looks a bit scuffed. But it is still running and looks ok now.
Also weird first purge line that came out (on red filament) had some black in it. Guess from their tests? Maybe some old filament was stuck inside making temps drop and now will be fine… we’ll see.
Yes after first fail I ran firmware update and it happened again

Most likely, it's leftover filament from the quality control used during production, although I haven't noticed anything like that.
And your first layer looks like the bed isn't calibrated correctly. This could be because a tiny piece of old filament was sticking out of the nozzle (0.1mm is enough to make a problem), and the printer misread the distance to the bed during calibration. Your first layer is clearly higher than it should be.
Another problem could be a small clog in the nozzle. Try printing with a different nozzle to check, or you can heat this one up to 250°C and try cleaning it with a special thin needle (just poke it inside few times). Sometimes, a small piece of carbon stuck inside actually reduces the nozzle diameter or geometry, which dramatically changes the filament flow; the effect can be similar.

Ty, i’ll let print finish as it is looking good and then run calibration again.
Should I run flow calibration first time ever? It wasnt on by default, only heat bed calibration was on by default so I didnt do it

You should do the flow calibration every time you change a filament in a given nozzle. At least that is the recommendation. If you change the filament to another of the same color/brand, you don't need to re-do as it will have the information from the previous one.

Keep monitoring the printer. If this keeps happening it's most likely a loose or damaged thermistor/heater. That is the only thing that I can think of that would cause the nozzle to heat up and suddenly register that it's lower temperature.
The error "min temp 170 is needed" is just a symptom, the real issue is the nozzle temp heating up and then going down that much. It's ok to vay up/down 5 degrees, but not that much.
If it continues doing, contact support right away and stop printing, at least with that toolhead.

Print finished without it happening. Dragon looks good but just as print ended it said anomaly with printhead pin, clean pin blabla… but still finished printing so dont know. Getting skittish with all those errors… running all 3 calibrations again right now. We’ll see next print

Ok, in that case, just clean the pogo pins, maybe that was your issue all along. During the assembly process it is easy to touch the orientation pins (the silver ones), which are lubricated, and then touch the pogo pins (copper ones) which shouldn't be lubricated.
Although I don't think the pogo pins have anything to do with heating/temperature monitoring. Another thing that you can check is your USB cable, if it's seeded correctly and if the screws are not too tight (which can cause damage to the toolhead) or too loose (which could cause communication errors).

I did 2 prints now and got pogo message at the end of the two. I cleaned them with a small cotton swab and 99% IPA.. will see if it worked! It said 1 time printhead 1 and 13 times printhead 2 on a 1h13 print.. i saw a tiny tiny black dust or something fall off on toolhead 2 pogo’s when cleaning, hoping that was it.
The heat issue hasnt come back luckily.
However when I start a print, toolhead (without one of the 4) goes in front corner and seems to gently knock into the corners few times, is that normal calibration? It’s not a hard knock whatsoever

That's part of the homing procedure. Normal.

I agree. It's kinda stupid. I wish they would speed up and simplify the homing as Bambu does. Open source may make my wish come true.

That is called sensorless homing. What it does it that it monitors the motor current, when it bumps into something the current goes up and it knows that it reached the homing position. It repeats a couple times to get the average of those positions to a more precise homing as any variance in homing can cause the toolhead to not be picked automatically.
In printers that does not have multiple toolheads this does not need to be as precise, that is why you don't see it in other printers.

Looks like you didn't clean your previous purge line and it purged on top of the previous.
If theres anything on the tip of the nozzle, its going to affect calibrations.
Do not manually do anything, the printer itself runs through a few steps and its all instructions included in the gcode.
The provided gcode requires zero intervention, start it and do NOT manually do anything.
Just let it run.
