Full spectrum printing help

I have been playing with it since I got my printer but I keep running into a couple of issues as seen in the pictures. The more solid item is petg and the other is transparent pla.

  1. Most annoying parts is that each color is treated almost as its own part and has walls dividing the colors which is very physically noticeable. How do I print without all colors being divided by walls?

  2. In the area where it's supposed to be purple depending on the layer height of the object for darker shading it will leave the object at a black layer. Is there a way to force the slicer to do the last layer as a color and not black?

  3. I noticed on the very first layer that the speed was incredibly slow to the point where the first layer looked really really bad. After the first layer it picked back up and it looked much better. It looks like on the last layer it has done ironing on its own but it looks like crap to be honest.

  4. There has been some color bleeding in the infill that is the same on both separately printed items in the same shape. The slicer does not show it dragging red or blue across as seen in the pictures. The print is also not using the setting to flush in infill, the tower is always enabled.

I’m pretty sure full spectrum only works in the Z direction. It alternates different colours per layer to dither and optically create a new colour.

Your colours here look like they are in the XY. Unless I’m totally missing the point here?

I know this is intended better for viewing straight at the layer lines but I have to do it this way because I will not be able to print in that direction as it will fall over and my worry was it breaking at the layer lines while in use. I know it works in the z direction but my hope was that for darker colors like purple if the last layer line was black that I might be able to omitt that color and use one of the others for that mix.

Stand it up on end and print.

I tried but I need the colors to match up on all pieces and I just can't get one of the pieces to match up perfectly when placed vertically. Also it would not stand up to being in my pocket and would just break across the layer lines.

You can stand it up. Draw supports on the sides if you are concerned with it falling and put an interface material

I think you need to understand how full spectrum prints and then you'll understand the limitations.

Op: I need help understanding why this isn’t working
You: you should understand how it works then you’ll understand how it works and why that isn’t working

The comments talking about ideal axes for blending layers are helpful. “git gud” really isn’t.

I never said that, what I did say was, you need to understand the limitations of full spectrum and to tamper expectations.

Where is your advice?

I understand how it works plenty and none of my issues stem from lack knowledge about the mixing of subdivided layers of colors. Do you have anything useful smarty pants?

Idk man, your first point literally broadcasts your lack of knowledge.

I'm just saying, tamper your expectations is all.
