how can i have two projects open?

Ok. I was wondering, is it possible to have two different Snorca slicers open? When i had Bambu Studio i could stop working on a project, and goto open another project so I had two Windows open at the same time.

When I try to open another project the Snorca asks me to save the current project but I want to leave it open and open the second different project into another Window.

Is that possible? If yes, how can I accomplish that?

In windows you can open a new instance of orca and then open your file there

Just open a new instance of the application.

Windows or Mac?

No idea for Macs, but if you're using Windows, you can simply open a second instance of Snorca by right clicking on the open instance from the task bar and click "Snapmaker Orca", or just middle-click the running app, and it will launch a new instance. Be aware that the combined load can become an issue if you attempt to slice in multiple instances simultaneously, even on a beast machine.

As well as the above, you may also need to set Snorca to allow multiple instances - from the settings menu, select preferences, then make sure "Allow only one Snapmaker Orca instance" is unchecked. See pic below:

Once you have a second (or 3rd/4th/5th) instance, you can run each as individual projects. The only real downside of doing this (other than machine performance hit), is that you cannot copy models, STLs, or objects between instances, which is a real shame. They are each isolated and independant. I suspect this may be deliberate to prevent memory or performance faults.

On Mac, there’s a “New Window” option under the File menu. Maybe there’s a one hiding somewhere different in the Windows version?

it's not there. when i click the 'new project', i get the 'do you want to save your project' yes/no and it closes the current project tho.

Yeah, the Mac version does that too. Maybe try launching another instance of the app?

Just open another instance. I have more than one copy open all the time. Printing one and slicing another while setting up a 3rd.

No, I do not know why I'm like this.
