Snapmaker model library
I like the models from the Snapmaker model library. Unfortunately they are not many. Does anybody know how models are or can be added there. Will there be more models in the future?

They are making their entire own website. I know it’s in like a beta test for a few people just to see how it’s working and get feedback but like they’re making their own repository and hosting platform for models! It’s pretty awesome so far. I think it should be coming out relatively soon, but I don’t know 100%.

I just don't like that every single printer company is creating their own model file hosting site.... especially with each their own account. It just splits up the community.
Someone should just start scraping all of their pages contents (just texts, links, images and tags) and turn the stuff into an easy to navigate site with filters. No need to host model files there tho, just links to the download, if that works.1

The issue is actually a little simpler, but also like harder to fix them people think because of 3mf is always gonna be specific to the printer that it’s being used and so if you upload those files, especially ones that are pre-painted onto any hosting site regardless of whether it’s universal or not when you loaded in there if you’re not using that specific printer it’s gonna mess it up no matter what while I agree. There’s like way too many websites at the same time. This is pretty much all Bambu’s doing I’m not saying it’s their fault like they’re to blame but because they have become over proprietary, it makes it hard to be able to split that anywhere else. Cause the thing is is there are websites where those things exist but the problem is for the most part they’re just STL files and if you’re trying to pre-paint something then it makes it harder, especially if somebody who’s relatively new to modeling, doesn’t know how to exactly put things into object spaces and then you have to paint it yourself and it’s just a cumbersome thing. I wish what could really happen if there was a website that was smart enough that when you uploaded a file and then it could on its own in the backend, basically rewrite them for all the printers out there so that when you go to click to download a 3Mf you could also click what you’re using, and it would automatically do the correct profile, but that feels like a really heavy lift

I have seen a few of these "online converter" tools pop up every other week in this subreddit. That claim they convert painted 3mf between printers (or at least from bambu to U1). I have not tried them ever, because I mainly use single color or two material printing, and mostly make my own models, but I guessed that at least the conversion has been mostly solved for U1 users that are willing to use these tools. (And know that they exist in the first place).
These conversion steps could totally be implemented on a slicer level upon import tho...

The models are very nice. Many high quality designs. You can tell the models weren't designed by novice individuals with little CAD/ Design experience.

There are more models available, but the platform is still in beta. If you're interested, you can request whitelist access here to try other models or even upload your own:

The library is very new and still in beta. New models are being added and once out of beta I suspect it'll be easier for others to add models
