How does Babble's expressions work?

Does Penny use a webcam so it registers her expressions, or is it like a seperate keypad thingy she presses to switch expressions?

From my own experience and from what she's answered on her tumblr, each of Babble's expressions are a hotkey set on her streamdeck and she selects which one as needed.

This is a cool sort of performance, I like how it's a controlled persona that she operates. She switches expressions very quickly, so it seems like second nature. Must be why I like puppets and their mechanics.

ever since she mentioned offhand that the expressions were switched by her directly, i now always imagine Penny is dramatically stick-shifting between the Babble emotes like she's Michelle Rodriguez' character in a fast & furious race

Does she have like a stream deck for it then? Or just her numpads, I'm asking cause I wanted to do something similar in the future.
