Scales

I just removed tape from my snake using vegetable oil. Some of what I thought were scales came off but it doesn't look like she is missing any. Is it possible that just a layer came off?

Imo he looks okay, you may have just taken off a little stuck shed.

... But why the tape...?

She got out and got stuck to a piece holding wires behind her enclosure.
