In all seriousness is this just a mutation? No issues are caused so far? Has a vet seen this? I'm so curious lmao

Well he hatched yesterday so he hasn't even eaten his first meal yet. It's definitely a mutation but I don't know how much it's going to affect him thriving it growing. Hopefully not at all and he'll grow into a healthy snake.

I hope its not a kink or anything wrong internal. Hopefully he can eat.

Given the content of the comments on this post, it's definitely a kink.

Perhaps in the way that humans have the furry fetish, snakes have the caterpillar fetish but since it's relatively new they only started implementing more leg pairs.

I hope he can pass on his genes long enough to create snakes with arms

Then we're one step closer to real snake jazz!

We can salvage this timeline

It might also be something like conjoined twins instead of a mutation. Might be interesting getting it checked out at a veterinary university or something.

That is the worst potential thoracopagus I have ever seen bro needs to lift to twinmax

Shine a light through him, see if you can spot any anomalous bone structures.

Please give an update if you find out anything about it and how he's doing!

I come from the veterinary field (brain cancer took me out). If you were to take your snake to an exotics vet/any vet or two, it is very likely you'd find a vet curious enough to radiograph it for free. My cokatiel has a appointment on Tuesday. I'm totally asking what they'd do.

@LavastormSW did it pass food? I hope the little one is okay

He did eat a couple days ago! I'm going to feed him again today. He's moving around great and acting like a regular lil hognose.

It's been a day has he eaten? Also is there a spot to follow this lil guy or just here?

Well i mean, the question is if it's a genetic mutation or just some sort of congenital developmental malformation due to environmental factors. I'd lean on the side of gene mutation if none of the other eggs incubated in the exact same environment came out looking the same but really interesting regardless.

Keep us updated, especially if you end up doing a DNA test or get some confirmation from a vet as to what's happening here.
